I have no idea what exactly I am doing here, but I do know that in this age of ever-growing multi-hyphenate heroes I need to pare my outlets down.
A… poet-writer-model-actress-sculptor-artist-performance artist-clown-educator-painter-designer-creator-makeup artist-installation artist-fluxus artist-hiker-camper-hippy-traveler-conscious consumer-holistic health advocate-relationship anarchist-queer-ancestral eater-freedom fighter-stylist-set designer-production coordinator-art department-farmer-videographer-home video maker-photographer-storyteller-drag king-physical theater devisor-movement artist-mime-dancer-puppeteer-sexual revolutionary-singer-lover-rocker-dj-friend-sister-daughter-cousin-auntie-niece-healer-the-list-goes-on
and I simply can’t keep trying to delineate each veritable artistic sensibility into its own, singular image any longer.
While being easily categorized and readily marketable surely makes way for creations to be facilely consumed en mass… I yearn for a community of complexity over an audience of ease.
My plethoric personality is through with the confining containers I’ve become all too familiar with.
Too comfortable with.
Too content and bored with.
I need a space to reach you that is my own, and while it may not end up being here forever! This is where the journey really begins. So, thank you to the ends of ends for joining me at the get-go.
Where have we been, and where are we going?
I suppose my content creating started with drawings of horses and imaginary creatures on printer paper haphazardly stacked in a binder when I was 7.
This form evolved to a neatly handwritten poetry book with a line drawing of a faerie in a flower on the cover at 11.
Then the world wide web publications of xanga, blogspot, flickr, tumblr, instagram, you-tube…
With all the boxes each platform I’ve diddled with has tried to smoosh me into, I find myself feeling like I’ve yet to locate a place for publishing I want to actually be.
Safe to say, I am feeling very excited and vulnerable as I carve out a new space for my whirly twirly booty’s creations to reside.
Here you will find stories of my curious lifestyle, links to home videos and live performances, recommendations to books and movies and podcasts, favorite quotes, notable musings, personal poems, image manifestations, scoops from behind the scenes, and milestone updates as I navigate the bizarro terrain of life that lays before me.
See you next week!
