drawing grins with wet teeth
Toes digging into moist soil

as patchouli afternoons blend
into hoppy orange juice

Bopping along
wagging & tickling

My Achilles heel
dancing down driveways

Neighborhoods smelling of smoked meats
past drifting sounds of childhood squeals

jumping through, into sprinkler treats
Weaving through families

on a Saturday afternoon
to happy hour, downtown

where the painted walls merge
with long shadows of love

twisting into sunsets, adoring
embraces of memory, reaching

for closer dreams of levity
The moon rising, reflecting tomorrow's might
