I like the pairings. Poems with a story or clowning insights with original art or visa versa.

Hi Julia, great that you are asking your readers. Smart move. Although I'm not sure you will get the answer you are looking for. Or maybe that will be the answer.

For me, I have a big preference for poetry. So, if I find that in your newsletter, I am more likely to read and engage. However, some of your other stuff is also very interesting, and I find myself reading that in bits and pieces.

What always helps me is finding a certain drumbeat. Maybe you can alternate regularly. Let's say clowning, personal essay, poem, personal essay. Repeat. Just a suggestion to work with.

Good luck. Looking forward to more (especially poetry).

Arjan, thank you! I really appreciate your take, experience, and insight. I love the idea of a drumbeat to roll with... and am very intrigued to read that sometimes you take the non-poetry stuff in in bits and pieces. Wonderfully helpful information!

Thank you, Doug! I miss clowning in a more constant and obvious fashion. As my time away from LA increases I find that my day-to-day is less clown forward... I should perhaps do something about that ;) One helpful way might very well be sticking to the subject here a bit if not much more! Although, here we can only discuss it... breaking the fourth wall of a blog has yet to be a successfully tackled mission...

Challenge... accepted? HmmMm...
